This is one of the rarest XJS we have had the pleasure of offering. It is in a very nice condition that only a lifetime of care can maintain. We have here a 1991 Jaguar XJS V12 Le Mans Coupe, Limited Number 164 of 280 Units made, Automatic, 46k Miles, 3 owners from new! Finished in the perfect colours of Regency Red with Cream Leather interior, She comes with all the Limited Edition Extra bits, an MOT with no advisories, The previous owner paid £35k in 2022 and a recent £4k service brings her up to date, she is ready for her next proud owner!

Launched in 1975, Jaguar's XJS was never envisaged as a direct replacement for the E-Type. More of a relaxed grand tourer than an out-and-out sports car, it was designed to seamlessly blur borders rather than blast down back roads. To this end, it was equipped with automatic transmission as standard. Although, when fed the quoted 295bhp and 318lbft of torque developed by a post-1981 H.E. (high efficiency) 5.3 litre V12 engine, this still resulted in a claimed top speed of 150mph and 0-60mph in less than eight seconds. Introduced at the 1988 Geneva Motor Show, the long-awaited full convertible version featured a reinforced floorpan, frameless doors and sophisticated electric hood (complete with heated glass rear window). Underpinned by the same all-round independent coil-sprung suspension and power-assisted rack and pinion steering as its Fixed Head Coupe siblings, the soft-top came with anti-lock brakes as standard. Priced at some £40,000, a waiting list was quick to form. Announced at the 1990 Birmingham Motor Show and introduced to celebrate Jaguar’s victory at the 1988 and 1990 Le Mans 24 Hours, the 280 car run of Le Mans XJ-S models featured a number of cosmetic improvements over the standard cars. These included quad headlamps, extra trim and badging along with lattice alloy wheels. The silky smooth 5.3-litre V12 remained in its usual form allied to an automatic transmission.

This low mileage XJS  was supplied new on the 5th April 1991 to its first owner, a Mr. Cheetham of Laughton, Sheffield, who registered the car G1 GUS. He owned the car for many years until selling to a Mr Walker of Mexborough, and then it came into the hands of the previous owner in 2022. Whilst the original service book with the stamps has been lost, nearly all the MOT's are present showing a low 46k miles from new. When the last, of only three owners, owner bought the for £35k a couple of years ago, he immediately had the car gone through to the tune of £4k in servicing, which included all brake discs and pads, she has covered minimal mileage since then. All original manuals and handbooks accompany the car in the original Jaguar Le Mans leather folder. Finished in the very popular Regency Red with Cream hide the XJS is a striking car that appears to be a very original, well looked after example. The paintwork and bodywork are of a high standard, chrome work very smart, the interior trim is great with wear to the drivers seat and staining to the drivers carpets set only. The underbody is in structurally excellent condition with an MOT with No Advisories at all!

She is a beautiful car to drive, these 5.3 V12 engines are incredibly smooth and powerful and this car doesn't disappoint. With excellent, smooth gear changes, impressive power delivery and fantastic ride and handling, this XJS is ideal for long distance touring and regular use. The previous owner paid over £35k for the car recently and then spent a further £4k, there is an MOT until November 2026 with No Advisories. We think XJS's are the next big thing and can see movement in the market for the rarer models, she is ready for her next owner to use and enjoy!
