This is a really cute little Beetle and we are loving driving this around! It is a 1969 Volkswagen Beetle 1500 Automatic, finished in Red with Black Interior, she is a UK Supplied RHD Car and is showing 89k Miles. This car has a realy Cal-Look with lowered suspension and Empi Style Alloys with Bigger tyres at the rear! The interior is amazing with crazy carpet and a fully functional 8-Track Stereo with some great Seventies Eight Track Cartridges in the Glovebox!

The story of the Volkswagen Beetle is like no other. Sixty-six years of production, over 21 million examples manufactured, factories on five continents, etc. The statistics are as staggering as the car's history. In 1933, Ferdinand Porsche was instructed to design and develop a 'Volkswagen' (People's Car) that was basic, affordable, and capable of transporting two adults and three children at up to 100kmh. The newcomer finally went into production in 1938 and, while it inevitably evolved over the years, the basic concept was never altered - an enduring tribute to the genius of Dr. Porsche. By the Late Sixties you could order a 1200, 1300 or the range topping 1500 version in the UK, and this was augmented by the much hyped at the time, Automatic Version! Launched in 1967 and available on both the 1300 and 1500cc models the Automatic Stickshift featured a conventional looking gear selector in a H pattern like the manual variant however lacked a clutch pedal. Featuring 3 gears selected manually without needing a clutch, using a torque converter like a conventional automatic vehicle. Other changes included more stable double jointed independent rear suspension. Produced until 1975 and accounting less than 10% of total beetle sales making the Automatic Stickshift a rare and collectable Beetle today.

Our car was first registered on the 3rd February 1969 and has only covered 5k miles in the last 15 years, whilst we cannot verify the mileage the MOT's go back 20 year and show a gradual climb from 80k Miles. We do not have much history with the car, some some recent invoices and the ownes handbook and brochure, the car obviously been well looked after and probably restored as the condition is fantastic! These Semi-Automatics are really rare and are super easy to drive, just two forward gears with no clutch, its like a go-kart! Call us if you need any more info but this is a really fun little beetle!
